Copper and Sterling Silver

Description: This is a beautiful, artsy wire-wrapped jewelry piece. The copper wire and pearls blend well to create a nature-lover's gem and the silver wire certainly adds a special touch!

This was a piece made for a friend's daughter.

I love the colors of the oxidized copper and sterling silver in the base form.

Fine, bright copper wire was used to wire on the fresh water pearls and tiny amber glass beads.

Wire gauges for bracelet

Thanks for the comments on this piece. It was fun to let the wire lead me to new places As for the wire gauges...I started with probably 16 g. copper for the base. It's a guess because I scavenged some electrical wire from the garage. Then 20 g. sterling in the next layer. At this point I oxidized the piece and buffed with 0000 steel wool. Finally, the beads were wrapped on with 26 g bright copper wire. Experiment with layering and have some fun!
