Another Way to Sell Your Jewelry Online
by: Christine Gierer

Thanks so much for answering that question Stacy!

I have one more thing to add. I'm a little biased, to be honest. I like to price high, make bigger margins, and then I don't have to sell as much. Lazy, I know.

So that's why I don't like to sell on Etsy or Artfire. I want to be the only vendor people look at. Etsy and Artfire have too many other places for people to go and I have no way of getting them to come back.

I've just posted a new article called How to Create an Online Shop that Actually Gets Visitors (and Buyers!) that gives a different perspective on selling jewelry.

Good luck!

Where to Sell Your Handmade Jewelry
by: SimplyStacyJewelry

I sell my handmade jewelry on Etsy and have had right at 300 sales (on my two stores combined) in the past year or year and a half. I have been a member of Etsy since August of 2007, but didn't list my first items to sell until around May of 2008. I love it and have met some of the coolest, most helpful people on Etsy. It's just:

Sign up is free

Listings are a straight up 20 cents each and last for 4 months.

When your item sells, Etsy gets 3% of the sale. You get a monthly bill that you can pay via PayPal or credit card. Very easy.

Another site I have sold handmade jewelry on is Artfire.

I haven't sold as much on this site, but I have heard it is getting a lot more traffic now.

Some people sell on eBay, but it seems like handmade items don't do as well there.

If you have any questions about Etsy, feel free to email me at imstillup@att.net.

Hope this helps!
