What Kind of "Braiding" is This?

by Susan
(New Mexico)

I'd like to know the answer to this question asked by another reader.

This style braid looks similar to one I've seen done with beads, and the result looks like a twisted necklace.

I've been looking for information on this type of braiding technique for some time now.

Spiralling Knots
by: Christine

Believe it or not, I think I know what you're talking about.

Making half-knots
, one after the other will produce a spiral.

My spiral necklace project
is an example of the "braiding" I think you mean.

So the name of the knotwork (for future reference" is called a half-knot sennet. And the knot is a macrame knot called a half-knot.
