What brand of pliers/cutters do you recommend?

by Tina

Would you recommend particular brand of pliers and cutters? If so, why? Do the cost of these tools vary greatly from one supplier to the next?

I use Lindstrom flush cutters. I can't remember which ones..only that they where top of my list for Christmas presents followed by gembedboards, and my husband came through with both.
The pliers are just wonderful, they get into the smallest spaces to snip little wires, they cut flush and don't pinch the wire, they feel good to handle and I am so impressed with them that I have to stop wanting to put them in my bag and take them to friends houses to show off.
The pliers cut up to 1.25mm/14gauge, anything bigger I can use the run of the mill cutters from the tool store.

So if you have a little cash saved, or want a nice present, put Lindstorm on your list.

Cutters - premium quality does make a difference

I had some really good (I thought) flush cutters.
Then I was doing a class with Lisa Claxon and still having an issue with my wire wraps, no matter how I tried, how close I cut there was still a rough edge. Lisa handed me her Tronex cutters....oh my oh my, what a difference. They were about $70, but according to Lisa only need to be sharpened about once every 5 years, and that's under $10, mine are a year old and like new.
Of course, I keep another set for heavier wire and other stuff.
These are also fabulous for cutting off the end of AccuFlex (or other beading wire)really close to the crimp, never any chance that customer's neck will be irritated by a little tail on the wire.
Love them, thanks Lisa
