Want to Make Metal Jewelry But I Have Metal Allergies

by lloydchick

Where do I start? I’m allergic to metal. I’ve gone years without being able to wear jewelry.

I love jewelry and through the years have been able to find a few items that I can wear but for only a short time.

I’ve been thinking that I should learn how to make jewelry for myself so that I can finally have jewelry that is tasteful for an old lady :)(I’m 55) and will not cause me to itch and break–out.

I would like someone to guide me in buying items that will work for me in my situation.

I can use metal clasps, if the item is loose enough to have movement. I like stretchable bands because I’m big boned and need that ability to slide on and off.

I will need to buy materials but don’t have the money to waste on items that I won’t be able to use.

Any guidance would be appreciated about what materials I should buy with little metal.

I’ve searched several sites on jewelry making and I think that your site seems to be the most helpful and realistic for my uses.

Thank you.
