Using elastic string for bracelets?

How do I make my knots stay together when using elastic string for bracelets?

I am stringing bead bracelets and the knots are coming apart very easily. I have tried putting a dot of jewelry making glue on the knot.

Is there something else I should be doing to make them stay knotted?
