Using A Jig With Aluminum Wire

by Peg
(Utah, USA)

I have commercial jigs that use pegs and I'm trying to use aluminum wire to make looped, curved, pendants. However, I'm finding that aluminum wire is so soft that it bends and kinks as I try to maneuver it through the jig pegs and the result is tweaked items instead of smooth lines.

Suggestions for resolving this problem?

I've seen some lovely aluminum jewelry so I know it can be done...I just can't figure out how!

Jig And Aluminun Wire

I would try a smaller gauge wire and I just bought a plastic wire wacker.

I myself work with artistic copper wire lots of pretty colors and it seems a harder metal.
