Sometimes when you tumble oxidized silver or copper your jewelry comes out black or grayish instead of nice and shiny.
Not to worry, just drain your tumbler, rinse everything, put it back in with fresh water and dish soap, and tumble again for a few hours.
I freaked the first time my jewelry came out of the tumbler all grayish - but sometimes this happens because the water just gets too saturated with black antiquing particles.

Sometimes a black rubber tumbler leaves a film on the jewelry. Change the water often and add 20 mule team borax and a drop of soap to keep every thing clean.
The switch knot is a decorative lacy macrame/ hemp jewelry knot that helps you save on twine too. This tutorial shows you how to tie one with clear pictures and instructions.
A sliding knot is a wonderfully easy way to end off a leather, string, hemp, or corded necklace or bracelet. It looks neat and stylish, is a very practical closure, and is very easy to make.
