Shell Necklaces

How do you make a bracelet or necklace with shell pieces? I have all the stuff to make it, I'm just not sure how to make it.

Shell necklaces are easy enough, as long as you have the ability and the equipment necessary to drill through your shells. You will need a dremel or flexshaft and a drill bit that accommodates up to 16 gauge wire. If you're not sure how big that is, you're looking for small holes in your shells, not gigantic ones. After drilling the shells, you can either add jumprings to each piece and then string them onto any kind of jewelry cording or you can just run the cording through the shell bits and knot on either side of each piece as you go to hold them in place. And last but not least, if you know anything about hemp knotting (books available all over your local craft stores), you can do really nice necklaces with shells and found beach objects with hemp.

Hope this helps & good luck!
