Inverse Chevron Friendship Bracelet Pattern

The Inverse Chevron Friendship Bracelet Pattern is just like the Chevron bracelet; just the starting point is different.  The minimum number of colors is two, and the maximum is up to you.

What you need:

  • Embroidery floss in your choice of colors:
    This pattern uses three colors:  cream (1), green (2), and blue (3).
  • Masking tape, a safety pin and pillow, or a clipboard
  • Scissors
  • Measuring Tape

Things to know before you begin:

The knots used are forward (F) and backward (B).

Step 1

Cut strands to desired length.  For this particular pattern, 60 inches will produce approximately a 6 inch (including loop and knot) tight bracelet.

Step 2

Fold strands in half and make a loop and knot at the top.  Pin the knot to your workstation pillow.

Step 3

Arrange colors:  321 123.  The inner strands (cream) will be used first.

Step 4

Starting in the center and join the cream strands together with a forward knot.

Step 5

Make two more forward knots with the cream strand. 

Step 6

Make two backward knots with the cream strand that is still in the center.  The color arrangement should now be:  132 231.

Step 7

Continue steps 4 – 6 until you reach the desired length.

Step 8. 

Divide the strands into two sections, and braid each group.
