How to Resize a Bracelet Pattern?

I have just completed a bracelet using a free project pattern. Supposed to be 7.5".

Turned out to be 8 5/8" with toggle. There is a definite pattern which is repeated 5 times. Yet, if I remove a full pattern it will be less than 7". HELP!!!
