I have a reel of snake chain and some separate ends for snake chains but don't know how to fasten the ends onto the chain.

Solder These Chains
by: Anonymous

The easiest way to go about this problem is to solder an eye-ring to the chain.

If you aim for a more professional look, you could solder a fitting end cap on the cut chain. For an example just look at the expensive chains at your local jewelry store.

If you don't want to solder, you have to clean/degrease the chain very well and glue a fitting end cap to it using epoxy glue.

Use long-curing epoxy glues; these tend to be much stronger after curing than the faster formulas. It is also very important to roughen up the inside of the end cap before gluing.

Let the glued chains sit overnight in a warm room. If done right, it is nearly impossible to separate the chain from the end cap ever again.

Use end caps with already soldered on eye rings to get fast and reliable results.
