Help With Tips For Selling Jewelry

by Gail
(Moore, Oklahoma)

My name is Gail, I have been making jewelry for about a year and half now.

I can't do regular work or the jobs I have worked before because I am disabled. I have to take break when I am working on my jewelry. I would really appreciate any help or ideas that anyone can give me on making and selling my jewelry.

Thanks everyone.

Help With Making And Selling Jewelry
by: Jill

Hi Gail, I am Jill and, too, am handicapped/disabled/physically challenged. (When I hear or see the word "disabled" I remember what a friend of mine replied to someone who asked if she is disabled: "I'm not 'dis' anything!" I have MS and have been taking naps since I got MS over 30 years ago.

I need to remember that I am doing the best I can with what I have. Working with wire, jumprings, string and polymer clay keeps my hands strong and limber. I rest when I need to and work when I'm up. I tend to do it more at night, after my S.O. goes to work so I don't have to clean up.

Selling is something I'm preparing for. I have gotten help in groups I belong to online and have many files saved on the subject. I know that I will have to do special orders. I have no idea how to second guess anyone. I give gifts and sell at a discount and ask the person to please tell their friends.

Pinterest is one way of showing your work as are flikr.com and Facebook.

Good luck!

Marketing And Selling Your Jewelry
by: Anonymous

I have a "shop" on Rubylane.com and Etsy.com and others. This is where I sell my vintage and artisan jewelry so you might want to check into it.

Since the jewelry field is highly competitive, I also would recommend to get on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest.com, Artfire.com etc.

Also, check out all that you can on the Internet regarding what's trending for spring and summer. Check out Pantone.com and get the latest colors that are suppose to be hot for the seasons.

Hope this helps.
