Looking to replace my old worn waxed linen cord necklace with some non fading Goretex cord. It can't be too thin....

Try a fly-fishing shop where they sell fly-tying supplies - they usually have several colors of Kevlar thread, too. Can't get much stronger and thinner than Kevlar, LOL
