Bracelet Charm and Clasp Options

Marcasite crossThis page shows the bracelet charms and clasp styles available for the Bracelet Kits

What are Charms?

Charms are any type of dangly bit.  In the images below, you'll see bead charms, sterling silver charms, and swarovski crystal charms.  The charms are attached by jump rings or by wire.  Full instructions will walk you through attaching the charms.

What charms can I choose?

Each bracelet will come with handmade eyepins and 2 swarovski crystal beads to attach as crystal charms, and a sterling silver puffed heart.  You can chose 1 additional sterling silver charm to finish the piece.  The sterling silver charms are necessary for the bracelet to hang properly and for the names to stay on the proper side of your wrist.

You can choose 1 of the following:

If you want something different, add it to your order in the notes and I'll see what I can do.  I can most likely accomodate.

What are clasps?

A Clasp is the part of the bracelet that allows you to take it on and off your wrist.  You may choose a toggle clasp, lobster clasp, or magnetic bar clasp (2 or 3 strand only)

Which clasp should I choose?

Lobster Clasps are more secure, but you may need someone else to help get them open and closed easily.

Toggle clasps have a bar on one side, and a circle or some other shape on the other.  The bar goes through the circle to secure the clasp.  They are less secure than lobster clasps, but may be easily opened and closed by yourself.

My personal favorite is the magnetic bar clasp - I make all my 2 strand custom bracelets with this style.  The Magnetic clasp is a good mix of security and ease of opening and closing oneself.

Bali Bead Charm
3 Strand Clasp with Toggle

The 3 strand clasp can be closed with a toggle (shown) or a lobster clasp

Those dangly bits are Bali Bead charms.   Bali beads are handmade in Bali, not to be confused with Bali-style beads which are an inferior mass produced bead.  The beads are a fairly hefty weight so they weight the bracelet well.
