Removing Backings - Necessary?
by: Christine Gierer

Is removing the backing from the pins or earrings necessary?

If you need the surface level for resin curing or similar maybe you don't have to remove them.

There are other ways to keep the surface level. Can you leave the backings on and embed the piece in rice or beans to keep it level?

If you need something heat resistant may steel shot would work.
