Am I Braiding My Hemp The Wrong Way?

by May
(MA)

I make a lot of hemp jewelry and I'm pretty good at it, but lastly I have been noticing that as I braiding square knots the two outside cords are becoming different lengths.

The one I start with is becoming a lot shorter then the other one. Is this normal?

Hi May,

It seems to me that you must be making spiral knots? That would definitely explain why you have one side way longer than the other.

Hope that helps :)
